“I have been fighting obesity all my life. On December 6, 2006 I decided to take on the challenge of changing my lifestyle towards a healthier approach. I started by watching my meal portions and taking walks around the neighborhood in the evening 3 times a week. I decided to join a gym after I reached my first “plateau,” increasing my exercise to 5 times a week. By June 2009 I had lost 80lbs, but I was in a plateau and struggling to get out. I met with a personal trainer at the gym and started sessions. I am still working with the same trainer, exercising before and after work everyday and have now lost 149lbs.”
“I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge which I try to use to help others around me overcome their struggles with weight loss. When I finally hit my ultimate goal, I will feel comfortable knowing that I have the power to maintain and not go back to where I once was. It feels as if I have a life for the first time. My lifestyle change has been difficult, but the reward is all the sweeter!“

I had been struggling with my weight for years. It seemed like once I turned thirty, I just couldn’t eat what I wanted to and stay the same size! I was always tired and felt older than my actual age. I really wanted to do something about it and I was tired of “yo-yo” dieting.
One day I overheard some co-workers talking about joining WeightWatchers and I decided to go check it out. I signed up that day and made the commitment to myself to finally lose those extra pounds. It took me about six months, but I achieved my goal by eating smaller portions of nutritious food and exercising as often as I could.
Basically, my advice for anyone that wants to lose weight is “Eat less and move more”. Now, I am 30 pounds lighter and have kept the weight off for over a year. I’m not going to say it was always easy, but it is a lifestyle for me now instead of a “diet”. Making the commitment to live healthier will change your life for the better… I know it changed mine!
