Loss Prevention Staff
Johanna G. Averill
Prior to joining Gilsbar in January of 1999, Mrs. Averill worked as a staff
attorney for an Administrative Law Judge for the U. S. Department of Labor and
as a judicial clerk for a Judge Pro Tempore for the Louisiana Fourth Circuit
Court of Appeal. Ms. Averill has also practiced law for an insurance defense
firm in New Orleans. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Marketing, Mrs. Averill received her Juris Doctor degree
from Loyola University School of Law.
Carol M. Rider
Ms. Rider received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing, with a minor in
Business Administration, from Southeastern Louisiana University. She earned her
Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University School of Law and worked as a
judicial law clerk for the 24th Judicial District Court and was engaged by a
plaintiff's law firm as independent counsel. As an independent contractor for
Gilsbar, Inc., Ms. Rider is Professional Liability Loss Prevention Counsel for
the Louisiana State Bar Association.
Lindsey M. Ladouceur
Ms. Ladouceur is a partner in the law firm of Ladouceur and Ladouceur, L.L.C.
She has a general civil litigation practice with an emphasis on commercial
litigation, construction law, family law, and professional liability. A magna
cum laude graduate of Loyola University School of Law, Ms. Ladouceur is a Board
Certified Family Law Specialist, certified civil mediator, and divorce
mediator. Ms. Ladouceur is the former President of the New Orleans Association
for Women Attorneys and co-author of Planning for Marriage, Separation, and
Divorce: A Louisiana Perspective. As a consultant to Gilsbar, Inc.,
Ms. Ladouceur is also Professional Liability Loss Prevention Counsel to the
Louisiana State Bar Association.
Cynthia Oteri Butera
Joining Gilsbar in 1991, Ms. Butera previously practiced law for 6 years in New
Orleans. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration
from the University of New Orleans and graduated from Loyola University School
of Law where she served as Articles Editor of the Loyola Law Review. Ms. Butera
is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, American Bar
Association, Federal Bar Association, and the Law Practice Management
Section of the American Bar Association.
Elizabeth LeBlanc Voss Ms. Voss serves as one of the Loss Prevention Counsel for the Louisiana State
Bar Association under the employment of Gilsbar, Inc. in Covington, Louisiana.
Prior to joining Gilsbar in January of 2006, Ms. Voss was a civil litigator in
New Orleans and served with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in
Houston, Texas. She also was appointed as a tax examiner for the United States
Department of Treasury in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Voss received her Bachelor of
Arts degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University. She earned her
Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law (affiliated with Texas A
& M University). Ms. Voss is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association
and the State Bar of Texas.
